In October, Dr Kelly Holder represented The Warren Alpert Medical School at the Fourth National Summit on Promoting Well-Being and Resilience in Healthcare Professionals hosted by The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children's Hospital. Dr Holder was joined by Greg Salgueiro, MS, RD, LDN where they presented on the recent Suicide in Healthcare Conference held at The Medical School in September.

The Lunch & Be series aims to engage students and faculty/staff in different art practices co-led by artists from the community, whether it be through movement, music listening, observing art, or writing activities. Yesterday's session was lead by Rachel Balaban, a Teaching Associate at The Warren Alpert Medical School where she works with medical students focusing on the importance of movement and dance.

2024 Out of the Darkness Community Walk

Each year, the Brown healthcare community participates in the Out of the Darkness Community Walk hosted by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Last Sunday, Kelly Holder from the Office of Well-Being, as well as many more in our community, raised over $2,000 to help save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.

2024 Suicide in Healthcare and Science Conference

September 25, the Office of Well-Being hosted the annual Suicide in Healthcare and Science conference. This year saw over 400 attendees, both in-person and virtual, concentrating on the theme "From Awareness to Action." Keynote speaker Srijan Sen, MD, PhD spoke on "Reducing Depression and Suicide Risk in Training Physicians."
The Lunch & Be series aims to engage students and faculty/staff in different art practices co-led by artists from the community, whether it be through movement, music listening, observing art, or writing activities. Yesterday's session was lead by Aubrey Atwater. A member of Hasbro Children's Hospital's Healing Arts team, Atwater brought stories, songs, and activities that promote comfort and well-being.

2024 Field Day

Yesterday, the Well-Being Program hosted our first annual "Fun in the Sun Day" at Ittleson Quad. The event, hosted by the Al's Pals and The Warren Alpert Medical School Senate, was a day full of outdoor games, barbecue, and other fun activities! Red Academy took home the ultimate trophy and year long bragging rights!
